The license information and IP address of the communication server’s Ethernet in-
terface are stored on the EIM card.

Licences
To expand a system already in operation or to re-order a licence for a new system
(see
), proceed as follows:
1. Order the licences you require from your authorized dealer, specifying the EID
number, which is used to identify the communication server.
2. The new licence code can be obtained either from your authorized dealer or via
the Aastra 400 activation portal on the extranet using the EID (partner login re-
quired).
3. Enter the licence code under CM_1.2_

in AMS and save it in the com-
munication server.
4. The newly licensed features are enabled. It is not necessary to restart the com-
munication server (exception: AIN licences).

EIM card
The EIM card must be replaced in the following cases:
• A licence is transferred to another communication server
• The call manager card is defective
• The EIM card is defective
A licence is transferred to another system of the same type
A licence can only be transferred to a communication server of the same type. To
do so you need to replace the EIM card with the licence information.
