Starting the Common
Agent
To start the Common Agent:

Log in using the
root
account.

Enter the following commands:
cd /opt/3com/VCX/commagent/vcx-scripts/init.d
./commagent start
Stopping the
Common Agent
you can stop the Common Agent using operating system commands or
using EMS.
The Accounting Service (acctxml), Authentication and Directory Service
(vcxdata), Call Records Service (bssxml), and the Call Processing Server
(callp) cannot be viewed from EMS when the Common Agent is stopped.
Using Operating System Commands
To stop the Common Agent using operating system commands:

Log in to the server running the Common Agent you want to stop using
the
root
account.

Enter the following commands:
cd /opt/3com/VCX/commagent/vcx-scripts/init.d
./commagent stop
Using EMS
Use EMS to stop the Common Agent immediately or gracefully.
To stop the Common Agent
immediately
:

From the Explorer tab, right-click
3Com SNMP Agent
.

From the pop-up menu, select
Maintenance
, then select
Hard
Shutdown
.
To stop the Common Agent
gracefully
:
1
From the Explorer tab, right-click
3Com SNMP Agent
.

From the pop-up menu, select
Maintenance
, then select
Graceful
Shutdown
.
A dialog box displays the progress of the command. When the Common
Agent has been restarted, the Working icon changes to a Finished icon.

Close
