Types of Statistics
You can request the following types of statistics for a port:
n
DropEvents — The total number of events in which packets were
dropped.
n
Octets — The total number of octets of data received on the network
interface.
n
Packets — The total number of packets received on the network
interface.
n
Broadcast Packets — The total number of good packets received that
were directed to the broadcast address (not including multicast
packets).
n
Multicast Packets — The total number of good packets received that
were directed to the multicast address (not including broadcast
packets).
Utilization Information
Furthermore, an interface utilization estimate is calculated and stored,
based on the traffic viewed on the interface, and the maximum media
speed for both Ethernet and Fast Ethernet.
Viewing Ethernet History Statistics via the LAN Sentry
TM
The LAN Sentry
tool can be used to view RMON history statistics. The
CoreBuilder 7000 switch card probes the unified RMON MIB database
where it can extract statistical data for any of the installed CoreBuilder
7X00 cards. Figure 61 shows the RMON history selection dialog box of
the LAN Sentry.
You select:
