Viewing the event log
Communication
Methods
Local Management can operate via a terminal, workstation or PC running
a terminal emulation program, and can use the following communication
resources (see Figure 59):
n
RS-232 serial link.
n
RS-232 serial link + modem (for use with a remote terminal).
n
Telnet over TCP/IP through the Ethernet port.
At system setup, you must activate the LMA to configure the
communication modes needed to access the agents through the various
networks. Refer to the Installation and Startup Guide
for additional
configuration information.
Security
Local Management security rests on a hierarchy of passwords: Admin,
Write and Read. For additional information on Local Management
security, see the Installation and Startup Guide.
