Example 2: Empty
Slot in the System
When you have an empty slot, the port numbering includes no ports for
that slot. With three Fast Ethernet modules, for example, you have
18 ports, which are numbered according to their position in the system.
For example, if the top-right slot is empty (slot 2), the ports are numbered
as shown in Figure 7. (The figure shows the 10/100BASE-TX module.)
