2Wire HomePortal USB Driver Installation Instructions for Macintosh
Computers
If you have previously installed a HomePortal USB driver in your Macintosh
computer, uninstall the existing driver before installing this newer version.
Instructions for OS 8.6 to 9.X
To start, download the file to a folder in your hard disk. After the download is complete,
perform the following procedure to install the software driver.
1. Double click on "2Wire USB 1.2.

3. When the driver installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart your
computer.
4. After your computer restarts, plug the USB cable from your Macintosh computer
into the USB port of the HomePortal.
5. Open the network "Control Panel" by selecting the Apple icon > Control Panel >
TCP/IP.

If “Connect Via: 2Wire USB Remote NDIS…” is not selected, select "2Wire
USB Remote NDIS" to set the network adapter active. Quit and save settings.
Instructions for OS 10.2 or higher
To start, download the file to a folder in your hard disk. After the download is complete,
perform the following procedure to install the software driver.
1. Double click on "2Wire USB 1.2.

3. When the driver installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart your
computer.
4. After your computer restarts, plug the USB cable from your Macintosh computer
into the USB port of the HomePortal.

Open the network "Control Panel" by selecting the Apple icon > System
Preferences… > Network.
6. If “Show: Ethernet Adapter (en1)” is not selected, select "Ethernet Adapter (en1)"
to set the network adapter to active. Quit and save settings.
* Your Macintosh computer usually names the HomePortal USB port as “(en1)”
automatically. If your computer has more than one Ethernet-like network device
installed, the USB Port may be named “(en2)” or higher.
