Introduction

The Wireless Touch Screen (2GIG-SP1-GC3) is a wall-mounted, full-color, touch
screen interface that provides all of the same easy-to-use keypad functions
available on the Control Panel. It is designed for indoor use only and gives users
the ability to arm and disarm the system, see the status of sensor zones, and
control Smart Home devices.

IMPORTANT:

This keypad does not support UL 985 installations

Wiring Note

In the United States, wiring routed inside walls, ceilings, and floors must be
in compliance with the requirements for NFPA 70: National Electric Code
and local building codes. To satisfy these requirements, it is recommended
that if connecting to the power input terminals, the wiring from the AC Power
Adapter output be rated CL2, CL2X, CL2R, or PLTC. When installing wiring in a
plenum space (e.g., pathway used to facilitate air circulation for heating and air
conditioning systems) the wire must be plenum-rated (CL2P).

Wall Mounting

◊

Note:

As an alternative to wall mounting, the SP1 Touch Screen can also be set on

a desktop using the 2GIG-CP-DESK Desktop Kit.

To prepare to mount the SP1 Touch Screen to the wall:

1.  Remove the backplate from the SP1 Touch Screen.
2.  Hold the backplate to the wall at the mounting location (align using the

built-in level). Use the backplate to mark the four locations for the mounting
screws on the wall. (The 4th screw secures the tamper post.)

3.  If the power cable is going to be recessed in the wall, mark the location of

the wire access slot and use a drywall saw to cut out the oval hole.

4.  If the power cable is going to be run on the wall surface, route the power

supply cable into the wire retaining trough on the rear of the backplate.

5.  Attach the backplate to the wall with four screws. The anchorless screws

do not require pre-drilling when used in wallboard. If mounting on concrete,
grout-filled or hollow block, brick, or plaster, pre-drill with a 3/16” masonry
bit.

SP1 Touch Screen Power Connection

The power input terminals are accessed though the rear of the SP1 Touch
Screen.
When wiring to the power input terminals, refer to this table:

1.  For power wiring that’s recessed in the wall, extend the cable out through

the oval hole cut into the wall and out through the backplate.

2.  Connect two wires from the power supply terminals to the power input

PWR+

 and

PWR-

terminals on the rear of the SP1 Touch Screen.

◊

IMPORTANT!

Observe proper DC polarity when connecting to the power input

terminals. To avoid reporting and display of AC Power Loss, voltage from the power
supply must measure 14 VDC at the power input terminals.

3.  Mount the SP1 Touch Screen on the backplate, secure with the screw.
4.  Plug the power supply into an

un-switched

AC outlet.
