All our components have been designed for bicycles to be used on official public roads only.

Note:

Connect so that the current from the hub dynamo flows through the cable from the lamp connection terminal of the hub dynamo
to the frame connection terminal.
To disconnect the lamp from the hub dynamo, remove the connector cover.

Bend the cable wires and run
them along the grooves.

Do not allow the cable wires
to touch each other.

Note:

Connect the cables as shown in the illustration below.

Connection of the cables

Note: Scrape away the paint from the lamp’ s frame connection terminal and the lamp connection terminal when
connecting the cables.

Do not ride the bicycle while the connector cover
is removed, otherwise the cable might get caught
in the bicycle wheel.
When removing the bicycle wheel, first remove
the connector cover. If the cables are pulled
strongly, it may break the cable wires or cause
poor contacts. Furthermore, when installing
the wheel, first secure the wheel to the front forks
and then connect the connector cover.

Putting Together the Front Wheel Mounting Assembly

Note:

1. Align the front wheel (hub dynamo) in its mounting position. As shown in the diagram. The connection terminal of  the
hub dynamo should be on the  side (when the bicycle is facing forward). The connection terminal should be positioned
between the front fork and the basket stay.
2. Assemble the fender stays and basket stays. Make sure that the hub washer and hub nut or volute spring and quick release nut
have  been put on in the correct order.
3. Tighten the hub nut .
    (1)  Tighten the left and right hub nuts alternately, little by little, to course that the hub dynamo connection terminal do not
turn away from the correct orientation.
    (2)  The recommended hub nut tightening torque is 20-25N- m.

Tightening torque :

 20-25N-m

When tightening the cap nuts, tighten the nuts alternately on both sides and do not concentrate all of the effort for tightening
and loosening the cap nut on one side of the wheel only, otherwise the hub axle may turn, which could excessively tighten or
loosen the lock nuts.

Note:

According to the German regulation you need to use an OVP. This dynamo has not implemented an OVP function in to the inner housing.
Therefore, please do use an external OVP, the NKV006 approved by Panasonic, in case that your front light will not include OVP function inside.
Please do use  the approved Panasonic OVP NKV006. Use an external overvoltage protector.
Do not disassemble the internal hub mechanism.
Do not apply any lubricant to the inside of the hub, otherwise the grease will come out and it may cause problems with conductivity.
If the hub nuts are screwed on too tight, or if one or the other is screwed tighter or looser than the other, the hub axle may be forced to turn.
Contact your dealer for repairs if the tire needs replacement or the hub nuts are loose.
Check the degree of parallel of the front fork end. If the front fork end is severely out of parallel, deformation of the hub axle may cause noise
from an obstruction inside the hub dynamo to be generated.
Be sure to install the hub dynamo to the front fork so that the side with the connection terminal is on the right when facing toward the front of
the bicycle. If the side with the connection terminal is facing toward the left, the hub dynamo may not turn properly while riding.
Lamps with electrical circuits such as automatic lamps may become damaged if the bicycle is ridden at high speeds.
If the lamp is frequently turned on when riding at high speed ranges, it will shorten the operating life of the bulbs.
Parts are not guaranteed against natural wear or deterioration resulting from normal use.

Check that the wheels are fastened securely before riding the bicycle. If the wheels are loose in any way, they
may come off the bicycle and serious injury may result.
Check that the lamp illuminates normally when riding at night time.

■

This manual contains safety information. Read manual completely before first using this product, and save this manual for future use.

The hub dynamo generates an extremely high voltage. Touching the dynamo terminal may cause an electric shock.

Never touch the connection terminal of the hub dynamo directly while riding the bicycle or while the wheel is spinning.
