Pulsense

 PS-100

Quick Start

Read these instructions before using your product.

Charge your product

Before using your product for the first time, make sure the
battery is fully charged. Charging takes approximately 1.5 to
2.5 hours. A full charge lasts about 36 hours.

Caution:

Do not attach the charging cradle when the PS-100 is

wet. If the PS-100 is wet, wipe it with a damp cloth, remove the
moisture with a towel, then let it air dry before attaching the
charging cradle.

1. Center the PS-100 under the large tab, then press down

until it clicks into place.

2. Insert the USB plug into a power source. You can use:

Computer (USB is for charging only, not for data
transfer)

Optional USB AC Adapter (part number SFAC04)

The orange LED lights up when your PS-100 is connected
correctly. Charging is complete when the blue LED is lit.

To remove your PS-100 from the charging cradle, press the
small tab down and push the PS-100 out from the back.

Install Epson PULSENSE
View

Download

Epson PULSENSE View

 from your mobile

device’s app store.

The following mobile devices are supported:

iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, or iPhone 5s with iOS
7.1 or later

Mobile device running Android

TM

 4.3 or later with

Bluetooth

®

 Smart

Launch the app and pair your
PS-100

You must pair your PS-100 through the Epson PULSENSE
View app. The PS-100 will not store any data until you’ve
paired it with the app.

Follow these steps:

1. Start the Epson PULSENSE View app.

2. Make sure that the PS-100 is within 3 feet (1 meter) of the

mobile device.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your PS-100

with your mobile device and perform the initial
configuration.

The PS-100 can store up to 480 hours of data before needing
to be synced.

LED status

The LEDs on the PS-100 light up or flash to indicate different
states. When exercising, the LEDs indicate which zone you’re
currently in. The PS-100 vibrates when entering or leaving a
zone.

Wearing your PS-100

Follow these steps to adjust the wristband:

1. Unfasten the buckle of the wristband.

2. Unhook the band and adjust it to fit your wrist.

Keep these tips in mind when wearing your PS-100:

The Pulsense band needs to be worn snugly around the
wrist to collect more accurate heart rate data. This may
cause a slight impression on the wrist. Adjust the band for
the comfort and performance you choose.

When wearing the PS-100, make sure it does not touch
the ulna bone.

For greater accuracy, wear the Pulsense band on your
non-dominant wrist.

Before boarding an aircraft, put your PS-100 in airplane
mode by repeatedly tapping the top of the band.

Calibrating your heart rate

To personalize your heart rate zones and calibrate the sleep
monitoring feature, wear your PS-100 for 2 to 7 days while
you sleep. The accuracy of your heart rate zone and sleep data
will improve after the PS-100 has calibrated your resting heart
rate.

Using PULSENSE View

You can view live and collected data, such as heart rate, steps,
calories, and sleep, from your PS-100 using the PULSENSE
View mobile app.

Troubleshooting

The PS-100 vibrates when entering or leaving a zone. To
turn off vibration, go to

 > Device Settings >

Vibration

in the PULSENSE View app. See the in-app

help

for more information about vibration.

If you are missing data, note that data collected before
pairing with the app cannot be viewed.

If you are having trouble pairing, make sure you are
pairing from the PULSENSE View app, not from your
system’s Bluetooth settings.
